RAN Security System Engineer (m/f)

As a RAN Security System Engineer, you will play a critical role in overseeing privacy and security assessments for our RAN infrastructure. You’ll collaborate closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, leveraging your expertise to interpret security reports, track vulnerabilities, and ensure that our suppliers deliver timely fixes. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills as you coordinate security measures and support the integration of Deutsche Telekom's requirements.
What you will do
- Lead Privacy and Security Assessments: Oversee security assessments for RAN, ensuring alignment with Deutsche Telekom’s security standards.
- Supplier Coordination: Verify that suppliers implement and deliver necessary patches/fixes based on identified vulnerabilities.
- Internal Verification test coordination: Plan and drive the security related tests within the defined project milestones, Provide regular reports to the Product Owner.
- Report Interpretation and Communication: Review and understand pentesting reports, clearly communicate findings, and follow up on remediation actions.
- Track and Manage Vulnerabilities: Monitor the status of vulnerabilities, track remediation progress, and maintain updated records of vulnerability management.
Required knowledge and skills
- Understanding of Security Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Kali Linux, Nmap, and Nessus, with a focus on interpreting the information they provide rather than using them directly.
- IT Networking and Security Knowledge: Solid understanding of IT networking and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Report Analysis: Ability to read and interpret security reports to facilitate effective communication and action tracking.
- Organizational and Detail-Oriented: Capable of managing multiple security assessment processes and documentation.
- Strong Communication: Able to clearly communicate technical requirements and findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive and Collaborative: Eager to work in a team and collaborate internationally with partners across Deutsche Telekom’s network.
